Welcome to the 2020 River Raid,
In its 4th year now this ride has aimed to support the Murraylands community and its people. The ride is on a Sunday, during the first day of the Tour Down Under and the Down Under Classic night street stage.
We highly encourage interstate travellers to choose Murray Bridge as their choice of accommodation destinations for their first few nights of enjoying the Tour Down Under. We will look into chartering a bus down to Adelaide to check out the event village and street classic in the evening and safely get you back to your accommodation in Murray Bridge if you decide to have a few beers.
Course Description
A cycle journey on the black top as close to the Mighty River Murray as it gets. Amble your way along quiet country roads visiting river side communities, passing dairy flats and working dairy's.
Starting from Murray Bridge’s Sturt Reserve next to the Bunyip; the ride flows North and upstream out of town. Taking quiet back country roads, the route diverts away from major traffic arterials alongside the river as close as possible passing the small townships of Mypolonga, Woodlane and Caloote, via Mannum Falls on its way into the Steam Heritage River Town of Mannum.
Stop in at Mannum for refreshments before returning to Murray Bridge via the Ferry crossing and the Eastside of the River. Or, take on the new 115km Edition riding further upstream to the Younghusband General Store. The Longer rides then make their way back to Murray Bridge. Descend the final straight on the Old Princes Hwy and over the First Bridge to span the Murray and back into Sturt Reserve to soak in the river with a well earned cool beverage and a Burger!

· Entry is free to ride but we strongly encourage you to purchase a tee and lunch pack where proceeds will go to support the JDRF and find a cure for juvenile diabetes!
COURSE:
Course Markers:
Look for the following course markers. These arrows will also be accompanied with red and white striped marker tape. We recommend following the links to the course maps and downloading the gpx file from the site to your favourite mapping device as arrows and markers are often missed due to distraction, vandalism or “Gone with the Wind”…
Course Services:
There will be a sag wagon/first aid that will carry a track pump and limited tools and spare tubes. On course there will be aid stations located at:
· Woodlane (25km)
· Mannum Ferry (49km)
· Younghusband (67km)
· Burdett Hall (99km) & (66km for 82km riders)
Drinks and food for purchase along with toilets will be available at Mannum (50km), and Younghusband General Store (67km)
Finish Line:
Cross the finish line at Sturt Reserve in front of the iconic Bunyip, slump on the grass, take a dip in the river and grab yourself a well-deserved cool beverage or two and a burger all included in your entry fee.
